The Network for Public Health Law (networkforphl.org), with the support of its fiscal sponsor, TSNE, is a national organization providing leadership, legal technical assistance and educational resources to help public health practitioners, attorneys, policy makers, researchers, advocates, and communities develop, implement, and enforce laws to solve public health challenges. The Network is seeking a Deputy Director to support the Network’s Harm Reduction Legal Project. Under the direction of the Project Director, the Deputy Director will provide leadership and management for the project’s portfolio, support the team’s operations, and participate in the Network’s and project’s strategic planning, management, and sustainability efforts. In addition, the Deputy Director will provide and help coordinating legal technical assistance services that include: providing actionable information to governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as individuals and private sector partners regarding legal rights, barriers, facilitators, and best practices for the creation and operation of harm reduction programs and practices; strategic guidance to individuals and organizations working to create, expand, and support harm reduction programs in the United States; and the development of written materials, webinars and trainings, as well as conducting legal research and evaluation. A strong candidate will have seven or more years of experience in harm reduction law or a related field. Those with fewer years of highly relevant experience will be considered. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of people who use drugs and their communities.
The position is available immediately. The successful candidate will have excellent legal research and writing skills; excellent organizational skills; a strong, demonstrated commitment to social justice and the rights and dignity of people who use drugs; experience in harm reduction law and policy; and the ability to create and maintain partnerships and collaborative relationships with a wide variety of individuals and communities.
As this is a full-time remote working position, the successful candidate will be a professional who thrives in a structured independent environment with external supervision (the successful candidate will also have the option to work out of the Network’s office in the Twin Cities area). The position will require some travel, and availability for virtual meetings during U.S. working hours.

Compensation and Benefits
Location: Work will be primarily performed 100% remote.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000/yr and is commensurate with experience.
