Responsibilities

TSNE is seeking an early to mid-career professional interested in advancing the social sector with a personal and professional commitment to equity and social justice and who is desirous of leveraging their talent and skill set to ensure the long-term sustainability of TSNE.  The Advancement Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of TSNE by leading the creation and implemention of administrative processes and structures, working with colleagues to develop and support a learning and advancement function, and strategically planning and executing high-quality conferences and other events that serve to engage key TSNE stakeholders toward building a pipeline of dedicated partners and supporters.  The Coordinator will work with colleagues across the organization in a critical support role with primary responsibility to ensure seamless administration and coordination all aspects of the advancement team including fund and grants management, sharing organizational learning, and event planning while ensuring seamless execution of activities with the goal of delivering exceptional experiences for all supporters. 

 

The ideal candidate has strong organization, project management, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills ensuring positive and effective representation of TSNE in interactions with clients, vendors, funders, and internal team members. This role will be best suited for someone with a natural sense of creativity and innovation who finds fulfillment in helping to develop and execute plans, has a passion for managing unique event concepts and experiences, and who has a keen aptitude for attention to detail, effective troubleshooting, and an overall commitment to customer service to guarantee all aspects of work are executed efficiently and in alignment with overall team goals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, grants management and/or event management software, or similar data management systems, is a plus. 

 

Essential Functions

 

Administrative Support

  • Assist with the development and Implementation of administrative systems, structures, processes, and operations for an Advancement office.
  • Work collaboratively with the accounting and finance team to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting of all advancement related finances including, but not limited to allocating and processing gifts, generating and mailing acknowledgement and year-end tax letters, budgeting for events.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other systems to manage data accuracy; build, maintain, and generate reports to Identify trends and needs.
  • Support the Communications and Marketing Team to ensure seamless Integration of Advancement needs into all collateral, websites, campaigns, etc.

Advancement/Relationship Management and Fund Development

  • Provide support in the development of advancement strategies and campaigns.
  • Research and document prospective funders. 
  • Assist with the grant process including, but not limited to proposal development, review, submission, reporting.
  • Lead the grant reporting process, ensuring that all internal stakeholders are included and notified appropriately and timely.
  • Build, maintain, and update a donor management database.
  • Lead advancement projects including awareness and marketing campaigns.
  • In partnership with Communications and Marketing and other internal stakeholders, plan, coordinate, and participate in external relationship development activities, including conferences, visits with partners and nonprofits, and other stakeholders.

Event Planning and Management

  • Coordinate TSNE events; work with the Advancement team to ensure all event logistics and details are well-managed and well-executed.
  • Support other organization-wide events and activities Including managing external guests, ordering materials, etc. 

Complete other tasks and projects related to the job, as needed.

  • Four or more years of experience in fund development, advancement, event and/or project management, sales and marketing, or related professional area. 
  • Outstanding relationship management skills with significant experience. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite. 
  • Knowledge in Salesforce is a plus. 
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail. 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated diplomacy and tact. 
  • Project management skills including developing and maintaining plans and adherence to deadlines. 
  • Good creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Commitment to the work of social justice organizations and alignment with TSNE’s values, including a commitment to DEI principles.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

 

The physical demands described for this position are that of a typical office environment. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen is an essential aspect of the position. There may be a need to lift and/or move materials or equipment.

 

Location: Work will be performed between our office located at the NonProfit Center at 89 South Street, Suite 700, Boston, MA 02111 and your home office. This position is required to be on-site at least once per month and may require flexibility.

Schedule: This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week and hours are flexible within reason.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Compensation: The salary for this position is $88,825.

Benefits: This position is eligible for a full benefits package including:
