Responsibilities

The Manager and Senior Organizational Development Consultant (Manager and Senior Consultant) works to support TSNE's capacity building efforts and brings a values-based approach to working with client organizations and across the variety of TSNE's organizational development (OD) consulting and training services. As the leader of this growing team, this position is responsible for establishing and advancing TSNE’s philosophical and strategic approach to OD consulting, specifically developing and managing systems, structures, processes, and outcomes for the OD consulting team to be successful. The Manager and Senior Consultant also serves as a lead consultant, content designer, and facilitator for a portfolio of OD client and cohort learning programs.

 

This position works collaboratively and in partnership with a variety of both internal and external stakeholders to implement the OD development consulting strategy. This position will lead and supervise members of the OD team and work closely with TSNE’s consulting and training team, key TSNE departments, and clients.

Essential Functions

 

Strategy, Learning, and Development – 50%

  • Lead the development of OD team strategy and direction toward the creation and execution of comprehensive OD consulting strategies; including leading the refinement of TSNE’s approach to OD consulting and practice areas. 
  • Partner with the leaders of each consulting focus area and the Director of Consulting and Training to align systems/processes/practices across the department.   
  • Manage workflow, staffing, and best practices for OD consulting processes ensuring resources are in place for successful delivery of exceptional consulting services and trainings. 
  • Stay abreast of new OD practices, working with the OD team to continuously assess the effectiveness of various frameworks/processes/structures, make refinements as needed, and integrate their use. 
  • Work in partnership with respective TSNE departments and the Director of Consulting and Training to develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy, evaluation strategy, and technology strategy that meet the needs of the OD team and clients.  
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and coaching support for direct reports.  

Consulting and Training – 50%

  • Oversee the OD team’s portfolio of consulting and training engagements, manage prospective and existing client pipeline; including scoping, planning, design and delivery. 
  • Lead consulting and training engagements including, but not limited to organizational assessments, strategic planning, sustainability planning, board development, and support for executive transitions consulting projects.   
  • Ensure that high quality, responsive, culturally competent consulting and training services are designed, managed and delivered; with consistent attention to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging.  
  • Engage with external/contracted OD consultants as needed; provide partnering, training, guidance, and support. 
  • Co-lead, facilitate and support cohort learning programs. 

Complete other tasks and projects related to the position, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience working in leadership role(s), preferably in community-based nonprofit organization(s) and/or in a social justice, racial and economic equity, or related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead/senior OD or management consulting role working to solve complex client challenges. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team, including direct reports, indirect supports, and consultants.  
  • Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of OD frameworks, tools, and methodology, such as diagnostic assessments, change management, group dynamics, and facilitation techniques, used to implement OD interventions and support capacity building. 
  • Proven success designing and facilitating highly interactive, adult-learning oriented trainings, workshops and/or interventions is required 
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a commitment to participatory management and shared leadership practices are necessary.  
  • Experience and skill working with a diverse range of internal/external stakeholders, utilizing culturally competent frameworks and liberatory/non-traditional practices is required 
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple, competing priorities is required. 
  • Strong business development, relationship management and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion theory, practices, initiatives, and conversations. 
  • Experience using or willingness to learn data and project management tools such as Salesforce, Asana and QDA. 
  • Ability to travel periodically, locally, regionally, and nationally as is called for with some occasional evening and weekends engagements.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

 

The physical demands described for this position are that of a typical office environment. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen is an essential aspect of the position. There may be a need to lift and/or move materials or equipment.

 

Location: Work will be performed between our office located at the NonProfit Center at 89 South Street, Suite 700, Boston, MA 02111 and your home office. This position is required to be onsite for in-person client engagements and some meetings with TSNE staff, funders, and program participants, which may take place outside of the TSNE office and may require to be onsite more regularly with advanced notice.

Schedule: This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week and hours are flexible within reason.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $107,540.00 annually, paid bi-weekly at $4,136.15.
