TSNE (tsne.org) is working to build to a more just, equitable society. We do this by providing capacity building services, consulting and training services, and operational support for hundreds of nonprofits, foundations, community-based groups, and others working for social change. We are partners and colleagues working collaboratively to support areas critical for organizations, including property management, leadership development and support, finance and accounting, human resources, and organizational development. We live by our values as an organization, and are committed to identifying, including, and valuing the unique skills, perspectives and knowledge of each member of our team.
About our Values:
As TSNE’s newest initiative, Shared Services provides a one-stop solution for nonprofits seeking a trusted, mission-aligned partner to help manage “back-office” organizational finances and operations, and “front-office” consulting in organizational development, strategy, and operations. As a new initiative, Shared Services will be developed and rolled out in phases, with an initial focus on “back-office” finance related services, including payroll and accounting services. Subsequent phases may include a range of services such as Human Resources, organizational development, fund development, evaluation, communication, and other areas as identified. Additionally, TSNE will explore the development of a cooperative ownership model whereby nonprofits can participate in a collectively owned collaborative for these services.
The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Senior Director of Shared Services, helping to set up a new Shared Services program at TSNE. The new service line will provide accounting services to incorporated nonprofit organizations. During the setup process this position will help to write up the new accounting practices for the service line. The individual will also help to manage the general accounting operations of approximately 55 Fiscally Sponsored Organizations in collaboration with the accounting team. This position reviews, analyzes and audits accounting transactions, reports, and forecasts for validity, as well as troubleshooting.
