MLPB (www.mlpb.health) is an innovative program that is at the forefront of social care transformation and access to justice. We equip communities of care with legal education and problem-solving insight that fosters prevention, health equity and human-centered system change. Through training, consultation, and technical assistance, MLPB helps care teams to understand their power to address health related social needs and to access legal resources and solutions for those they serve.
At a household level, MLPB seeks to disrupt the negative impact of legal, social, and economic factors on health outcomes. At a population level, our work cultivates system and policy change.
MLPB partners with a wide range of social care entities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our partners include health insurers, accountable care organizations/entities (ACOs/AEs), hospitals, public health departments, early childhood programs, community health centers, and social service agencies.
MLPB is credited as the founding medical-legal partnership nationally, launched at Boston Medical Center in 1993. MLPB now operates as an independent project under the fiscal sponsorship of TSNE (www.tsne.org).
MLPB has a range of communications and marketing needs and is seeking a coordinator who will contribute to and implement a communications strategy across multiple outlets. The coordinator will support MLPB’s website, newsletter, blog, social media, and subscription-only Unlocking Access Hub which houses training and education content. This is a part-time, 22.5 hours a week position.
