Healthy Places by Design is a fiscally sponsored organization of TSNE (, which has a mission of creating a more just and democratic society.


The Project and Events Coordinator strengthens Healthy Places by Design’s position as a trusted equity-focused convener, connector, and collaborative learning leader in the healthy communities movement by providing full meeting logistics support for face-to-face convenings (from small meetings to large conferences) and web-based convenings (including interactive videoconferences and webinars). Helps ensure deep organizational impact related to capacity and relationship building, and peer learning and networking.


Events/Meeting Planning and Management

  • Lead logistical planning and management of complex in-person meeting requirements including, but not limited to; site selection and contract negotiations, invitations, registration, air and ground travel, food and beverage requirements, audio visual, evaluations and follow-up.
  • Coordinate and support virtual meetings and learning sessions, including interactive videoconference and webinars (i.e. scheduling, registration, promotion, technology support, real-time problem solving, and post-convening communications and reporting).
  • Develop and disseminate communication materials (i.e. meeting announcements, agendas, registration and logistical information, and other related material).
  • Develop workplans with timelines and roles, event-day annotated agendas and/or run of show, and high-quality, effective on-site (or real-time for virtual settings) support and problem solving.
  • Track and manage related budget information, including comparison of cost estimates with project budgets, billing and reimbursement reconciliation.
  • Develop and implement recommendations to ensure continuous improvement.

 Project Support

  • Collaborate with project officers/directors to provide overarching support to specific projects and initiatives. In addition to the above responsibilities related to events and meetings, this may include:
  • Help develop, coordinate and update project schedules and contact databases.
  • Coordinate logistics for project activities, such as contributing to the development and managing distribution of evaluation surveys and communications with program participants.
  • Coordinate and disseminate program-related reports and updates.
  • Provide supplemental project and organizational communication support, including:
    • Conduct light research and contribute to content-based resources (e.g. curation of e-newsletters).
    • Support Healthy Places by Design’s social media efforts on LinkedIn, and Twitter.
    • Provide multimedia support as needed.


We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • A minimum of five years of experience planning events and coordinating meetings, including at least light overarching project support.
  • An understanding of the principles of equity at multiple levels (e.g., racial, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, health, ability).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to relate well to a variety of personalities and working styles.
  • Self-motivated, optimistic, and able to thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and to handle iterative processes.
  • Ability to take initiative and creatively solve problems.

  • Work from personal home office or adequate working space with strong Wi-Fi and relative privacy (i.e., a door and noise control).

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen is an essential aspect of the position.

Regarding COVID-19: TSNE considers the health and safety of our employees of the utmost importance, and due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and subject to your state and local laws, our policy requires that all employees performing in-person work at a TSNE designated office are fully vaccinated. For the purpose of this policy, fully vaccinated indicates that you have received a single dose of the Janssen vaccine, or both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. Certain exemptions may be requested and will be considered by Human Resources.


Compensation and Benefits


Location: Staff work remotely from personal home office or adequate working space within the US.

Schedule: Core business hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Outside of this timeframe, employees can establish a work schedule in agreement with their supervisor (for a standard weekly of 37.5 hours). Full-time schedule options include hours evenly split M-F, or longer days M-Th to have fewer hours on Fridays or Fridays off.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $50,000.00-$60,000.00/yr and is commensurate with experience.
