MLPB (mlpb.health), formerly known as Medical Legal Partnership/Boston is seeking a talented and adaptive leader to join and lead a passionate, committed team into the next successful stage of the organization’s growth and impact. The current CEO/Executive Director is stepping down after 10 years due to expanded family responsibility. The new leader will join an organization and staff that is looking forward to the future from a place of organizational health, strength, and dedication to mission.
MLPB’s mission is at the forefront of social care innovation and democratizing access to justice. The organization provides training, consultation, and technical assistance of a legal nature to equip health care teams in their provision of services in order to build their capacity to address factors that relate to the social determinants of health of their patients/clients. These factors include housing, safety, food, education, transportation, and immigration status among others. MLPB helps teams and organizations more effectively connect people to the health-promoting resources and legal protections they seek. This work is anchored in MLPB’s team-facing legal partnering framework and Unlocking Access capacity building suite.
While MLPB’s team includes licensed attorneys, MLPB does not practice law nor provide direct legal representation to their partner organizations, to their workforces, nor to their members’ patients/clients.
MLPB has over 30 partners and collaborators based primarily in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. MLPB partners include health insurers, accountable care organizations (ACOS), hospitals, public health departments, community health centers and other community organizations. MLPB has also been a collaborator on several national research and demonstration projects.
The organization has a budget of $1.4 million and is in good financial health. The CEO/Executive Director reports to the MLPB Advisory Board and will be supported in exploring new visions for strategy and impact in MLPB’s next chapter.
MLPB operates under the fiscal sponsorship of TSNE (tsne.org).
