The Basics Boston, a project of The Basics Inc. (thebasics.org) was created to change the way the city supports early childhood parenting and caregiving. We mobilize existing social and organizational networks to embed The Basics Principles – five simple, evidence-based parenting practices – into routine interactions that parents and caregivers have with their infants and toddlers. This helps ensure that all children are equipped with a solid developmental foundation and are ready to learn when they enter kindergarten.
The Basics Boston is the local chapter of the Basics Learning Network. Both are staffed by The Basics, Inc., which is a fiscally sponsored organization of TSNE (tsne.org).
The Program Manager will be responsible for helping to facilitate use of The Basics Principles among staff and volunteers of Children’s Services of Roxbury (CSR) and other organizations in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan that serve families with young children.
The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and is currently funded through September 30, 2024, with the expectation of renewal. The position will be based at CSR on Dudley Street and 50% of the staff person’s time will be working with CSR personnel.
