Overview

The Early Childhood Funders Collaborative (ECFC) is dedicated to aligning and leveraging philanthropic, public, and private resources to promote federal, state, and local policies and practices that take a systemic, equity-focused approach to supporting young children, their families, and the early childhood community. The network of national, regional, and local funders, supports the healthy development and learning of children prenatal to age 8 and their families, particularly low income and at-risk children, in the context of their communities. ECFC administers the Raising Child Care Fund, a fund that combines resources to regrant to  state-based grassroots organizing to advance more public investment and equity in child care.  ECFC is a fiscally-sponsored program of TSNE (www.tsne.org).

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Assistant will support our small team with a wide range of operations and administrative support.  The Program Assistant will provide support to ECFC’s workgroups and member programming.  In addition, at least one quarter of the Assistant’s time will be devoted to support for the Raising Child Care Fund.  This position will be a minimum of 20 hours per week from the employee’s home office.  There is some flexibility in scheduling within standard business hours, with a preference for afternoon hours (Eastern time), as most of our meetings take place to accommodate West Coast participants.

 

General Duties

  • Communicate professionally with a large and diverse network of high-profile actors and their staff/organizations, vendors and other groups;
  • Execute and track approved transactions, process account payables, check requisitions and deposits;
  • Coordinate events including invitations, registration, video conferencing or in-person logistics, and execution;
  • Organize materials and supplies for board and committee meetings, and special events;
  • Implement and/or maintain office communications, database, and other technologies;
  • Research options and manage subscription IT and videoconferencing services (e.g. email services, Zoom or web conferencing, file sharing services, etc.);
  • Draft letters, emails, and meeting minutes. Edit and format documents;
  • Assist with keeping grants reporting calendar through coordination of grant proposals and reporting for member foundations.

 ECFC Program Support

  • Provide support to committee structure – maintain committee rosters, build contact lists for committees, and manage scheduling and logistics of committee meetings. Provide agenda development, dissemination, and notetaking;
  • Prepare materials for meetings including producing documents, reproducing copies, and distributing materials;
  • Provide Executive Director with support on travel, scheduling, and speaking logistics.

Raising Child Care Fund

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings of the RCCF grant committee and related meetings with the Project Director;
  • Assist with tracking grant applications, grant review processes for subgrant awards to community-based organizations;
  • Assist with RCCF’s applications to contributing funders, including working within different online grant portals;
  • Assist with grant reporting- tracking, composing, submitting via multiple grant portals;
  • Help write, edit and format internal and external documents and social media postings to track and report on the progress of RCCF grantees on goals and activities.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a professional setting or a college degree is required;
  • Commitment to goals and mission of the Early Childhood Funders Collaborative;
  • Ability to work collegially and productively in a 100% remote work environment;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong customer service skills, including follow-through;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction in pursuing projects and goals;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office; Constant Contact or similar communications management, Zoom or similar conferencing software;
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple and simultaneous deadlines;
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple projects while paying close attention to detail;
  • Familiarity with software and sharing platforms for managing membership organizations and virtual organizations is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

 

Location: Work will be 100% remote.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $20.00- $22.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
