Edgewater Outreach Support Neponset Path Project Coordinator

Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition is a grassroots organization that grew out of an effort to draw on the wonderful ethnic and cultural diversity of the Mattapan community to promote a healthy living environment, with a focus on access to healthy foods and the promotion of physical fitness for all ages. The Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition is searching for an Outreach Coordinator to support the Edgewater Neighborhood Association's Neponset Path project.

Essential Functions

• Develop relations with residents and businesses in the Edgewater neighborhood;
• Develop relations with environmentalist organizations connected to the Neponset River;
• Joint planning and implementation of projects related to the path along the Neponset River with Edgewater neighbors, supporters, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), with expectation of one meeting or activity per month;
• Outreach for neighborhood association meetings and events;
• Attendance at all Edgewater Neighborhood Association monthly meetings;
• Related training and activites as requested.

We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

• Familiarity with the Edgewater community; Hyde Park or Mattapan resident preferred;
• Ability to coordinate and engage community members;
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Social media;
• Demonstrated cultural competence with diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic groups;
• Ability to travel throughout the Edgewater neighborhood.
