The Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR) (www.moar-recovery.org) is a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE MissionWorks (www.tsne.org) which organizes recovering individuals, families and friends into a collective voice to educate the public about the value of recovery from alcohol and other addictions.

The Operations Director works with the Leadership Team to oversee the organization’s operations for MOAR the project of TSNE.


Financial Job Functions

  • Participate in development of the organizations’ annual budget;
  • Participate in spending projection and budget modification plans;
  • Participate in fund development and grant writing process;
  • Manage and monitor the organizations’ budget to ensure accuracy;
  • Monitor spending volume to ensure programs and organization remain on target;
  • Manage contract and negotiations with vendors, and service providers;
  • Oversee Recovery Coaching billing process;
  • Attend board meeting to provide financial report and take meeting minutes.

Employee Relations Functions

  • Liaise between Human Resources Department (TSNE/MOAR) and staff;
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, orientation and onboarding of new staff;
  • Participate in bi-weekly payroll and ensure timesheet accuracy;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the strategic planning process;
  • Participate in the management of volunteers and the ongoing enhancement of the Volunteer Management Plan;
  • Monitor the progress of the organizational dashboard committees; Committee lead;
  • Collect and compile weekly event and meeting log data to compose quarterly funder reports;
  • Provide direct supervision to Admin or Technical Assistant and Recovery Coach/AREAS Supervisor.


We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Human Services or related degree preferred;
  • Demonstrated progressive management history in a non-profit (Minimum six years);
  • Program evaluation experience;
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office software and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills inclusive of social media;
  • Experience in building relationships with culturally diverse populations.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Lived experience in personal recovery with a minimum of two years preferred;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • The ability to travel for events and meetings;
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends;
  • Bi-lingual ability is a plus (Spanish preferred);
  • Research experience is also a plus.
