The Contracts and Compliance Manager manages all legal agreements and contracts, assists with the implementation of TSNE’s compliance framework, and contributes to the design and implementation of contract management systems and processes.


Contracts and Grants

  • Oversee the administration of all TSNE contracts, including those on behalf of TSNE’s FSOs, TSNE real estate and internal departments, ensuring responsive and compliant contract management and administration.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts and grants (including vendor agreements, leases, and fee for service contracts) on behalf of TSNE’s fiscally sponsored organizations and TSNE’s internal departments, ensuring compliance with applicable funding terms, laws and regulations including Uniform Guidance, and TSNE policies;
  • As needed, advise fiscal sponsorship staff on proposal documentation and pre-award documentation for federal and private grants to ensure accuracy and compliance;
  • Review day-to-day work product of the Contracts Administrator and support professional development of the position;
  • Maintain and update templates, as needed.


  • Identify and track compliance requirements, including those requirements applicable to federally funded grants and contracts;
  • Identify risks for the organization and provide solutions for limiting exposure;
  • Assist with the implementation of the annual organizational risk assessment, including the monitoring of compliance plans and preparation of audit reports and remediation plans
  • Develop and provide written guidance and trainings pertaining to contracts and compliance.

Systems and Other

  • Identify improvements in contracts management systems and processes and manage implementation of changes with key stakeholders.


Complete other tasks and projects related to the job, as needed.


We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • 5+ years of experience negotiating and drafting contracts of all types at substantial volume required;
  • Prior experience reviewing and negotiating grant agreements required, preferably including federal awards;
  • JD. required;
  • Demonstrable experience developing and overseeing complex contract management system such as Uniform Guidance strongly preferred;
  • Ability to provide high level of responsive customer service required;
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities and to track and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment;
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for TSNE's mission and to the work of social and economic justice organizations is preferred.
