    Responsibilities

    The Accounts Receivable Manager manages the accounts receivable process and team in our dynamic, fast-paced team-based organizational environment. The Accounts Receivable (AR) team provides accounting services for TSNE’s internal programs as well as approximately 70 fiscally sponsored organizations (FSOs) across the country. The AR team is responsible for accounts receivable, billing and deposit processing functions as well as handling related administrative tasks and client inquiries. The Manager must be flexible and skilled at managing multiple staff and processes to be successful with a wide variety of demands and needs.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    Accounts Receivable Management

    • Hold the responsibility and accountability for all activities in the accounts receivable function;
    • Hire, supervise, train, and mentor AR staff;
    • Review and/or prepare AR invoices for accuracy within the expectations of funder established timelines and formats; assure that additional supporting documentation is provided as needed;
    • Develop, implement, improve, further standardize, automate and maintain all systems, procedures and policies related to accounts relievable functions. Ensure proper training of staff;
    • Respond to AR related inquiries as needed.
    • Participate as member of Leadership Team;

    AR Compliance

    • Monitor and advise staff in preparing journal entries;
    • Monitor and ensure proper revenue recognition, recording of customer billing, and cash receipts processing;
    • Provide audit support;
    • Review and/or prepare AR invoices for accuracy within the expectations of funder established timelines and formats; assure that additional supporting documentation is provided as needed;

    AR General

    • Monitor bank balances and advise on transfers for cashflow;
    • Perform Administrator duties for online banking;
    • Provide direct service to the FSOs, as needed;

    Other

    • Complete other tasks as assigned the Controller

    Qualifications

    We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

    • Five to seven years’ experience performing and/or managing accounts receivable functions is required;
    • A BA/BS degree in accounting, or business or equivalent experience is required;
    • Three or more years of supervisory experience is desired;
    • Nonprofit accounting experience is required;
    • Familiarity with FASB, GAAP and Federal Uniform Guidance standards is required;
    • Experience developing and documenting accounting process instructions for internal staff is a plus;
    • Proficiency using large ERP systems and spreadsheets;
    • Ability to pay close and accurate attention to details;
    • Ability to adhere to standard and organizational accounting protocols;
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to function independently and to work as part of a team;
    • A commitment to the work of social and economic justice organizations;
    • Ability to work effectively with people of different cultural backgrounds.
