Future Chefs (www.futurechefs.net) prepares Boston teens to leave high school ready for quality employment and post-secondary education. With a focus on youth development, Future Chefs provides culinary training and authentic work-based learning to prepare teens with the hard skills they will need to succeed in the culinary industry, and the job readiness skills to succeed in any industry. Future Chefs’ model is based on the belief that every student is unique and flourishes in settings that provide high expectations, opportunities for growth, and positive interactions with adults. Future Chefs is a fiscally-sponsored project of TSNE MissionWorks (www.tsne.org).
This is a new position, as Future Chefs grows its development department. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will build a portfolio to make direct solicitations for significant contributions, and design/execute a strategy to increase individual fundraising and engagement in order to support Future Chefs’ growth in programs and the current capital campaign. This person will also prepare the Executive Director for her individual solicitations. The person hired will participate in shaping the future direction of the position and its place in Future Chefs’ development strategy. This position is ideal for those who thrive in a dynamic, innovative organization with compassionate, driven colleagues. This is an exempt, less-than-half time position.
Who You Are
You have 2 to 3 years’ experience of demonstrated success in closing gifts. You are a committed development professional, excited about helping a small organization grow and expand its individual fundraising. You are comfortable in an informal and dynamic atmosphere, and would like to put your substantial skills to use in a part-time position.
