  • Overview

The Early Childhood Funders Collaborative is a project fiscally sponsored by TSNE Missionworks. For over 25 years, the Early Childhood Funders collaborative has been a place for grant-makers to come together to learn about the latest research, program innovations, and policy affecting young children (birth to 8) and their families. Members align their resources for common good and speak out on behalf of young children and their families. ECFC Members share successes and lessons with each other. Our strength is in the community we have developed among foundations who genuinely want to share and collaborate for change. ECFC has two primary goals for our work together:

    1. We will increase the effectiveness of philanthropic investment in systemic, equity-focused approaches to early childhood.
    2. We will promote federal, state, and local policies and practices that support young children, their families, and the early childhood community.

ECFC was established in 1992 to improve collaboration among funders, foster peer learning, identify issues of common concern, and incubate ideas for advancing the field. Growing from eleven original members to nearly 30 foundations, today ECFC is comprised of national, regional, state, and local foundations with a demonstrated investment priority in early childhood development and learning.
