    In this newly created position, the Associate Director of Consulting and Training will report to the Director of Programs and oversee the Consulting and Training departments, and work closely with the Associate Directors of Programs and Finance for Fiscal Sponsorship to deliver integrated services to TSNE MissionWorks’ clients.  The Associate Director will contribute to program planning, implementation and integration of the Consulting and Training departments, focusing on shared accountability, effective management and production of high-quality work. Initial work will focus on prioritization of programmatic objectives, activities and operational needs as well as continuation and development of team-based approaches.


    Program Management  

    • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the Training and Consulting departments, implementing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programs;
    • Work collaboratively and apply strategic and creative thinking, data-driven analysis, and high degree of follow through to deliver high quality programming, impact evaluation, development, and other organizational initiatives including community engagement;
    • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback and resolve complex problems;
    • Ensure that services to clients are integrated, working across departments;
    • Ensure that the programs are well-planned from start to completion and meet deadlines, milestones and processes;
    • Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency;
    • Work collaboratively with the Learning and Evaluation team to develop assessment tools to inform continuous learning and improvement;
    • Support the Training team by creating and providing content for Professional Learning opportunities.
    • Assisting the Director of Programs, the Associate will work with the Learning and Evaluation team to develop programs and trainings with an emphasis on outcomes using data and best practice.


    Organizational Leadership

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients across TSNE MissionWorks to ensure high-quality, integrated services are provided;
    • Initiate and set goals for programs that support the strategic objectives and mission of MissionWorks.
    • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to MissionWorks legal guidelines and internal policies.
    • Work with Programs Director to provide reports or presentations to Senior Management;
    • Develop programming within the Learning and Consulting areas that support the strategic direction of the MissionWorks;
    • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of programs.
    • Undertake other tasks that are consistent with the position, as assigned.



    We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

    • Five or more years of experience in a nonprofit teaching or training role;
    • Prior curriculum development experience;
    • Working knowledge and experience of grass roots organizations;
    • Experience leading and motivating staff;
    • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods;
    • Ability to integrate teams;
    • Proficient in Microsoft software suite; and the ability to learn new systems quickly and enthusiastically;
    • Strong written and analytical skills including the ability to synthesize and write about program and services for varied audiences;
    • Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of the value of diversity in the workplace, with an ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds, traditions, customs and personalities;
    • Commitment to the work of social and economic justice organizations
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    • A strong commitment to excellence;
    • Ability to play close and accurate attention to detail;
    • Experience in leveraging available resources (financial, people, etc.) to develop responsive and effective programming.\
    • Experience in engaging different communities and designing responsive and aligned initiatives.
